HISTORY
The building that is the current Center for Nonprofits at the JTL Shops used to be the site where Harvey Jones kept his fleet of trucks in tip top working condition for over 50 years.
The JTL Shop building, where big rigs were once repaired, is now home to over 40 non-profit agencies. Mrs. Jones wishes were for a building where agencies could all be housed together, with nominal charges for utilities and space use. Many of the agencies have called the Center for Nonprofits at the JTL Shop, (previously named the Family Resource Center) home since the doors opened to the public in 1996.
At the center, nonprofit tenants are given long-term leases at below-market rates. The center is on a bus route and allows local residents to access multiple services in a single, conveniently located space.
